Stills Of Animation

Finishing off the title sequence, I needed to add the title of the Film to make people know what they are watching. After this scene it would fade to black and then the movie would begin, but with real video footage.
I added a few extra effects which was from a plug-in called particular, to give the title sequence a more moving and entertaining title. I also created these effects because there would be similar effects in scenes when they are travelling through Europe.
As the car looks like it is moving forward, due to the wheels rotating and the scene moving, but it looks boring without any buildings or props, so I added the famous buildings which would be visited in the film by the characters who are in the car.
This is now the main part of the title sequence. The wheels rotate round as if the car was moving and the hedge and road move to the left constantly to also give it the effect that the car is driving forward.
I scaled the scene down, so that it would zoom into the Tv screen. When the scene is being scaled down the Tv starts to blur out into the main part of the title sequence.
I created a spot light on the composition layer, where I then moved it left to right to make it look like there was a light swinging in the room, hanging from a wire. I downloaded all of the images from www.cgtextures.com and I edited them in Photoshop and added a drop shadow on most of the textures.

The Animation - Finding Cindy

Add Image

This Animation was created using Adobe Photoshop CS4 and Adobe After Effects CS4, for the storyboard unit. I create this animation for the storyboard unit where I had to make a a title sequence. I decided that I would make a comedy style title sequence which is similar to eurotrips, but also unique. The animation that I made has been re-edited from the first draft, as the title sequence seemed to go on for alot longer than aimed to be. This video shows in under a minute some activities which would occur in the film.

If I had a longer time on this unit I would have added more effects and maybe used 3D, to make the title sequence look more professional. I would have also included a bit of video to make it look more like a real title sequence.

Title Sequence Research

Eurotrip - The reason for uploading this title sequence is because, the story of my film is similar to the film eurotrip. I like the way they do not use any actual video footage in the trailer.

Bedtime stories - This is a good way to show a title before the film as the film is about storys and then use a book to tell the beginning. The reason I have used this in my research because I want to make a title sequence which looks like it is made of paper or animated in 2d.

Enchanted - I have picked this title sequence as it is also similar to the bedtime stories title.

The Film Idea

My film idea is that two friends go around the world to find a girl called Cindy. One of the main characters grew up with Cindy until she turned 16, when she moved out of town. The main character and his friend go on a search for Cindy, only to come across a crazy and long journey, meeting new friends on the way. The two friends travel from America to England to Italy and so on. The film ends with the boy and the girl meeting up and getting together. Through the story of the film, I would like to integrate some of the events in the film in the short title sequence to sum up the film in seconds.

I would have Christopher Mintz-Plasse from Superbad and Mila Kunis known for playing the part as Meg in family guy and also staring in Forgetting Sarah Marshall. Christopher would also narrate some parts of the film, to make it seem as if he is writing a diary. The film would categorise as a comedy genre and the film name would be called Finding Cindy. The film would be directed by Todd Phillips and produced by Mary Parent and would also have staring Jim Parsons and DJ Qualls. I would use a soundtrack for the title sequence and that would be Born to be Wild by ACDC as it is a good road trip song.

Title Sequence Ideas

FILM IDEAS: My first idea is a road trip/boat trip/ plane trip. The story line of the film would be that a teenager wants to live his lifetime dream in two weeks, but then gets himself into abit of trouble with people from other country's.

My second idea was a film, were apple products control peoples minds and turned everyone into zombies and there would be about 10 people left who survived one month of it and they all found each other and helped each other, but on the way they loose a few people.

I would have Christopher Mintz-Plasse and Jessica Alba playing key parts, with Morgan Freeman as the narrator. The film would be a comedy, I would probably call it NERD TRIP, I dont have a Director or Producer Yet.
The two videos are for part of my research, as they are the styles of how I want my title sequence to look like.

Storyboard Research

This is a storyboard which was used to create the first episode of heroes, where Peter Petrelli jumps of a building because he thinks he can fly. After he jumps and is slowly falling because the scene slows down, his brother comes to save him because unknown to him he can fly and comes to his safety. Each part of these pictures shows what is happening and the angle that it is filmed. As I have seen this episode, all of the boxes are correctly followed upon when they filmed this.

This is a storyboard from the PIXAR film called UP. In this sequence of the story, it is showing a scene were a little boy who seems shy comes across a confident child, she takes her hat of and gives him a badge and then she runs of and drags him along. There are 40 sketches, just for a 10 - 20 second clip. When creating films and videos it takes alot of drawings to prepare storyboard, as you have to include movement, emotions, actions and where the camera will be looking and directed towards.

Title Sequence Research

I researched two title sequence websites which were http://watchthetitles.com/ and http://artofthetitle.com/, which I found out there are alot of good title sequences, but I picked out the best titles and also the styles. None of which will look like how I will make mine. Out of the four titles that I picked, I have decided that the DAREDEVIL title sequence was the best one as it has meaning to it and it explains some of the story to the film.

This is a brilliant opening title, especially with the puzzle effect. They could have put a little bit more effort in creating the word GAME look better and add another effect to it. The other effect that I like is the old camera and flicker look. This video doesn't really have any suspense or feeling in the intro but it does have a few good effects in which I like in an opening of a film.

This is a very famous opening title, which has alot going on in it. As all or most of the James Bond films titles start after 5 minutes into the film and with the character who is playing James Bond shoots his gun pointing to the viewer, with a circle around him and then blood will pour down the screen. This title sequence has alot of colour showing and alot of playing card artwork such as spades, hearts, clubs and diamonds. I like the way in the video that patterns fly out of the gun instead of a bullet. I also like the fact that when it shows the fighting in the video, that it is animated and when, the enemy was stabbed he crumbled into red diamonds like on a deck of cards. The other good thing about this title sequence they are using gambling images, objects and changing them to look like weapons, for example a roulette was used as a target for a gun. There is alot of movement going on and alot of killing which makes it show that this is going to be an action film. It can also be fast paced in certain parts of the title sequence.

This is a very clever opening title, as Daredevil is blind they are using braille and skyscraper lights, to show names and the title of the film. They are also using a 3d environment, which they have created a city at night. I also like the tense music which is used because it gives it that action film feeling. I also like the effect that they have used on the typeface at the start, as it has give a wave effect.

The very famous Spiderman title sequence, is a brilliant way to open a film by using the characters outfit. The sequence is good because it is showing the character of the film but not the full thing. Whilst its showing I personally like the music playing as it makes a thrilling opening with the film.
